Operations team gets insights that are easier to act on
The Challenge
The leaders of the operations division at a prominent technology company were meeting regularly to discuss business reviews. But the presentations were too heavy on jargon and engineering-focused details. Leaders decided that everyone in the operations group – from VPs to individual contributors – should have the skills and confidence to share actionable assessments of the health and direction of the business.
How Kenning Helped
Kenning tailored our Communicating Insights approach to instill the skills and mindsets needed to share actionable business insights. Support included facilitating skill-building workshops. And Kenning also created model documents, offered just-in-time coaching, and built the capabilities of managers to coach their teams to adopt the skills. Everyone at every level was asked to rethink their documents and rewrite them, to get a first-hand experience of using the skills in their day-to-day work.
The Results
Over the multi-month program, more than 98% of participants said they felt more confident in their ability to use the new skills and make use of supporting materials. And 80% of leaders reported an improvement in the documents anchoring business reviews, noting that they were more visual, easier to follow, and inspired better and more engaged discussions.
