Mike brings more than 20 years of broad-ranging business experience to his work as a coach and facilitator. He began his career as a professor of English, and then transitioned into educational technology, where he developed deep expertise in consumer-facing and B2B product management and development. In this phase of his career, he focused on ways to use data and market research to deliver high-quality experiences for the users of online educational products. He is also one of the founders of a start up that is using artificial intelligence to help with the early diagnosis of ALS.
As an expert practitioner with Kenning, Mike draws on this experience to accelerate career development and professional learning for rising leaders. He facilitates programs and provides coaching to help leaders work within and even leverage complexity, creating more impact for their organizations. Some of the key concepts he incorporates into his coaching include polarity thinking and network mapping. He also helps rising leaders understand the value of clarifying purpose and tapping into empathy as they seek to be more effective and inspiring communicators.
